Alexander Livingston
Story updated 03/01/05
My son was born missing most of the bone in the palm of his right hand and all the bones in three of the fingers. Riley has been a huge part of our life since Alex was 2 weeks old. I knew God had blessed me with Riley Hospital the day I met his doctor, also named Alexander; my son has had such a wonderful connection with his doctor ever since he learned they share the same first name.
Alex has had three bone transplants and will continue to have these surgeries until his body stops growing. For now, though, he`s a beautiful, outgoing and energetic 9-year-old whose favorite things include Spider-man and Native American things.
Without Riley, our lives would have been very different. I am grateful to all of the wonderful and caring staff at Riley who continue to show us the light at the end of the tunnel.
