Endocrinology
Riley's Endocrinologist Specialists provide services for infants, children and adolescents with disorders of the endocrine glands (growth disorders, Turner syndrome, ambiguous genitalia, delayed and precocious sexual development, disorders of thyroid function, hypoglycemia, disorders of calcium metabolism, adrenal disorders, diabetes insipidus and anterior pituitary dysfunction). The program is a national leader in clinical research, with a special focus on children with disorders of growth, puberty and sexual differentiation. The faculty offers services throughout the state.
- Growth Hormone Program: Among the largest growth hormone programs in the country, Riley's Endocrinologists treat more than 1,000 children with different growth disorders.
- Newborn Screening Program for Congenital Hypothyroidism and Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia: As the newborn screening program for the state, Riley's Endocrinologists provide optimal care to every infant born in Indiana affected by congenital hypothyroidism and congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Riley's Endocrinologists also provide ongoing consultative services for primary care physicians throughout the state. At the Endocrine Testing Clinic, Riley's Endocrinologists evaluate a broad range of endocrine conditions.
- Pediatric Endocrine Educational Program: The program provides the education families need to deal successfully with an endocrine problem. Many families of children who receive care on an outpatient basis require in-depth, ongoing education so that they can successfully manage their child's care at home.
