Clarian North Opens Center for Children's Cancer and Blood Diseases

Carmel, IN - Clarian North announced today the opening of the Center for Children's Cancer and Blood Diseases, a proud part of the wide array of pediatric services offered through Riley Hospital for Children at Clarian North. The focus of the Center, which began accepting patients Monday, is to provide patient families with compassionate, family-centered pediatric hematology/oncology services. Each patient will receive highly individualized care, delivered using the most advanced technology and very best expertise available.

The Center for Children's Cancer and Blood Diseases will be led by Randy Hock MD, PhD. Hock is a highly respected pediatric oncologist with extensive experience in the care of children with cancer and blood diseases. He will serve as the medical director of the pediatric hematology/oncology program at Riley Hospital for Children at Clarian North while working closely with Dr. Robert Fallon, director of the Riley Cancer Center and the 14 pediatric oncology physicians based at Riley Hospital downtown. Hock will also serve as Chief Medical Director for Pediatrics at Clarian North, Associate Chair of the Department of Pediatrics of Indiana University School of Medicine for Riley Hospital for Children at Clarian North, and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Hock received his bachelor's degree, Ph.D. in Pharmacology, and his M.D. from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency and pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Washington, the Children's Hospital of Seattle and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. After serving three years on the faculty at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Hock went to Indiana University School of Medicine and the Riley Hospital for Children, where he served for seven years as a pediatric oncologist. Before joining the Riley Clarian North staff and leadership team, Hock served as director of the pediatric cancer and blood diseases program at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.
