Indianapolis - Approximately 25 pediatric heart transplant recipients (ages 2 1/2 - 22), their siblings and parents will meet for a day of activities, education and fun at the 4th annual Riley Hospital for Children Heart Transplant Day Camp.

WHAT: 4th Annual Riley Hospital for Children Heart Transplant Day Camp
WHEN: Monday, June 16
10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Camp will conclude with the Indianapolis Indian's game at 7 p.m.
WHERE: National Institute for Fitness and Sport
250 University Blvd.

The annual pediatric heart transplant day camp offers participants an additional opportunity towards returning to their routine childhood experiences.

"We have a wonderful group of recipients that like to live life just as their peers do, and most are quite successful at it," said Debby Murphy, RN, MSN, CCTC, pediatric clinical cardiac transplant coordinator. "Their common thread is they are thankful for the second chance at life and have a deep respect for that gift."

Camp activities will include an exercise "field trip;" bush and flower plantings in memory of their donors; a ceramic tile art project to benefit and beautify the Riley exam room; scrapbooking; and some additional educational sessions that will give recipients, siblings and parents time to connect with others in their group.
