Riley Pediatrician Elected to American Academy of Pediatrics Leadership Position

INDIANAPOLIS ─ Marilyn J. Bull, M.D., the Morris Green Professor of Pediatrics at Riley Hospital for Children and current president of The Indiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), was recently elected AAP chairperson for District V.
Dr. Bull has three careers running simultaneously - clinical geneticist, neurodevelopmental pediatrician and child advocate, as the medical director of the Automotive Safety Program and the Indiana Partnership for the Prevention of Firearm Violence.
Dr. Bull speaks nationally and internationally on several topics including Down Syndrome and occupant protection, especially safe transportation of children with disabilities. Dr. Bull serves on the Board of Directors for the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine and the National Child Passenger Safety Board.
Dr. Bull has won numerous national and state awards and has also played a major role in facilitating passage of Indiana legislation including the first child passenger safety law 1984; first seat belt law 1987; the primary seat belt law 1998; the booster seat law 2004; and the pick-up truck seat belt law 2007.
