INDIANAPOLIS – Commemorating National Autism Awareness Month, Riley Hospital for Children Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center and VSA Arts of Indiana present 'Through My Eyes - Perspectives on Autism' - the first annual juried art exhibition for artists with autism spectrum disorders ages 8 and up.

| WHEN: | Friday, April 3, 2009 6-9 pm A brief presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. that will include: Naomi Swiezy, PhD, clinical director, Riley Hospital for Children Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center; Jim Nulty, VSAI President and CEO; and Pilar Liford-Pike, parent of an artist with autism. |

| WHY: | The goal of the art exhibition is to educate the community about autism by showcasing through art, the abilities of people with autism spectrum disorders. |
This exhibit is open to the public and admission is free of charge.
'Through My Eyes – Perspectives on Autism' artwork will be showcased through April 24 in the en ROUTE Gallery at the Harrison Center for the Arts.
A ‘Call for Entries' was announced in October 2008 with entries due January 16, 2009. Any artist with an autism spectrum disorder, ages eight and above, was eligible to submit artwork for consideration.
