Nominate a Riley Champion
07/31/2009
INDIANAPOLIS - They face adversity. They fight. They conquer. They hope. They look disease in the face and decide that sickness will not define the way they live. They use their experience to encourage and inspire others. They are Riley Champions.
Riley Champions are Riley Hospital for Children patients who have translated their courage in overcoming injury or illness into philanthropic action in their communities.
Do you know someone between the ages of 8 and 18 that has been treated by Riley Hospital within the last three years that should be a Riley Champion? Nominate them today and tell us why. Visit RileyKids.org/stories/nominate_a_champion/ to complete the nomination form. Submissions must be made by Friday, August 14. Selected Riley Champions will be notified in September.
The 2008 inaugural class of Riley Champions were honored at an Indiana Pacers game, an Indianapolis Colts game and at the Riley Children's Foundation Annual Luncheon last November. Here is a list of the inaugural class of Riley Champions:
The Riley Champions program is made possible by long-standing and generous Riley supporters, Walmart and Sam's Club. Each year Walmart and Sam's Club employees diligently strive to increase awareness of Riley Hospital for Children and generate funds to support Riley programs. Walmart and Sam's Club have been advocates for Riley kids since 1988, raising more than $14 million for Riley Hospital.
