Children Craft Ornaments for Riley's Christmas Tree
12/11/2006
Indianapolis - It's time to haul out the holly, and prepare for Christmas. On Thursday, December 7th, the Christmas Tree in Riley Hospital's main atrium will be trimmed at 6:00 p.m. Children will be making ornaments to decorate the tree in the atrium.
The variety of unique designs gives the tree in the Riley atrium a distinct look every year. This year the children will be making candy canes, birdhouses and snowmen decorations. They can also design holiday cards for the 2007 Christmas season contest. A barbershop quartet will sing carols to get every one in the Christmas spirit. Cookie decorating and eating will round out the fun.
Taking part in creating the ornaments, and decorating the tree may help give these small patients get in the holiday spirit while they are hospitalized. IPL, sponsor of the holiday cards will take part in the activities as well.
